Casa de Campo Opens a Door to the Latin American Golfer with David Vanegas

Casa de Campo® Resort & Villas will host the first edition of The Birdie Club Experience from 25 to 29 November 2026, a four-day golf week built around on-course coaching from Colombian professional David Vanegas. The field is limited to twenty players. Reservations are handled by FROSCH.

The resort has spent five decades receiving golfers from the United States and Europe. This event points somewhere else.

Vanegas is a name Latin American golfers recognise without explanation. Fourteen international titles, a European Challenge Tour win, and Korn Ferry Tour playing experience. In Colombia he is followed the way a national player is followed anywhere, and that recognition extends across Mexico and the region.

Bringing him to La Romana connects a Caribbean destination with a source market that has been growing quietly and buying differently.

Because the Latin American golfer arriving at a Caribbean resort is often not looking for the same week as the American or the northern European. The trip is shorter, more social, more likely to be built around a group of friends who play together at home and want to measure themselves somewhere serious.

What almost none of these trips include is coaching.

Golf travel has settled into a familiar shape: a resort, a few rounds, a good dinner. It works, and most destinations sell some version of it. What it rarely does is change how anyone plays. The professional, when there is one, appears for an hour on the range before dinner and is gone.

This format inverts that. Vanegas plays all four days inside the groups, not alongside them, which is the reason the field stops at twenty. Above that number a host becomes a name on a poster who waves from the next tee.

His method, Más Birdies, Menos Bogeys, works from the swing a player already owns rather than rebuilding it. In a four-day window, reconstruction is not on the table. Decision-making on the course is.

The programme. Guests arrive on Wednesday 25 November for a welcome reception. Thursday covers clinics on putting, approach play, bunkers, irons and driver, followed by an informal afternoon tournament.

Friday moves to Dye Fore, the clifftop course above the Chavón river gorge, with Vanegas rotating between groups out on the course. Saturday brings the closing tournament at Teeth of the Dog®, ranked number one in the Caribbean since it opened in 1971, and an awards dinner at Minitas Beach Club.

The event covers four nights of accommodation, all meals with beverages, cart, on-course refreshments and airport transfers. Entry is open to players aged 21 and over with a handicap of 24 or better, and a non-playing companion rate includes the full social programme.

For the resort, the interest goes beyond one week in November. A pro-hosted format gives Casa de Campo® a way of speaking to a market where the sport is growing and where a familiar name carries further than a campaign.
